CKF North York Blog - Game Night in Hollywood

Updated: May 5, 2021

Hi everyone, this is the Cancer Kids First North York blog! The point of this blog is to keep everyone updated on how our chapter is doing. This includes updates about our events, fundraisers, donation opportunities, possible merchandise, and so much more. The goal of our organization is to create a strong team of volunteers that will work together to raise money and spread awareness to improve the lives of paediatric cancer patients. More specifically we’re looking for funds to donate money towards things like care packages, toys, and books. In this first blog post, we’ll talk about the very first event our chapter hosted: Game Night in Hollywood. Our team of volunteers decided a Hollywood themed gamed night, hosted virtually, would be an exciting way to raise money and awareness! To sign up attendees paid a fee of $2 that would go towards our fundraising initiative. The volunteers planned fun games such as making multiple Kahoots, guess the celebrity, and a Hollywood themed bingo. They were then able to get 14 people to sign up by word of mouth and through our instagram. The event went amazing, and the attendees had so much fun! Not to mention we raised over $80 from the entry fees and donations. All in all, the event was a success, and our volunteers are already planning the next one. If you are interested in joining the team and help come up with creative ways to raise money, follow our instagram @cancerkidsfirst.northyork or email us for more information.
